The mission of the Replacment Child Forum is to mobilize awareness of the replacement child condition so that in-depth information, advice, research and resources on the implications and long-term influences are available for adult replacement children, therapists, public and private institutions and public health policy considerations.

The following organizations have missions which are similar to that of the Replacement Child Forum, and we share them here as additional resources.

American Association of Retired People Grief and Loss Program – includes online articles, publications, support groups, and discussion boards on coping with the loss of a family member.

Aircraft Casualty Emotional Support Service – provides peer grief support and resource information to those who have survived or lost loved ones in air disasters.

Actively Moving Forward® (AMF) – provides grieving young adults, aged 18-30, a community of like-minded individuals seeking to be heard, feel supported, and wanting empowerment through their grief journey. An App community member has full access to facilitated virtual support groups, tools, resources, reading, videos, supportive quotes, community engagement via direct messaging, group chats, posts, and interactive comment boards monitored by bereavement care professionals. Communities are available for individuals aged over 30 and professionals seeking to serve best, individuals bereaved.

American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is dedicated to advancing knowledge of suicide and the ability to prevent it, and in supporting those who are bereaved after suicide loss.

Alive Alone – designed to benefit bereaved parents whose only child or all children have died by providing a self-help network and newsletter to promote communication and healing.

Bereaved Parents of the USA has chapters across the country that help grieving parents and families rebuild their lives after the death of a child.

Center for Loss in Multiple Births – by and for parents who have experienced the death of one or more children during a multiple pregnancy, at birth, and through childhood.

Center for Mental Health Services leads federal efforts to promote the prevention and treatment of mental disorders. Congress created CMHS to bring new hope to adults who have serious mental illness and children with emotional disorders.

Comfort Zone Camp – No charge nonprofit camp for siblings and children (age 7-17) coping with the loss of a sibling or parent.

The Compassionate Friends – A self-help organization offering friendship, understanding, and hope to bereaved families that have experienced the death of a child.

Granite Recovery Centers – If you have tried to cut down your alcohol intake and have been unsuccessful, it might be time to consider professional addiction treatment. There are many types of rehab programs that can help you take a firm approach to changing your habits, and they are guided by professionals who will help you work through the process.

Green Mountain Treatment Center – Offers an array of substance use disorder treatment services. Contact uthem to find out about individualized treatment plans, client-to-client programs and medical detox.

griefHaven – dedicated to assisting parents who have lost a child, as well as family members, friends, professionals, and those who want to lend their support but don’t know how.

Grief Center – offers e-mail support groups for the bereaved including parents, siblings, and grandparents. It also offers a wide variety of bereavement related content including a comprehensive resource guide of bereavement organizations.

GriefShare – GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. You don’t have to go through the grieving process alone.

HealGrief® – is a social support network connecting grieving individuals to others while providing the tools and resources to guide one’s journey with grief into a healthy post bereavement growth. Everything they do is inspired by their core belief that no one should ever grief alone!

Hospice Foundation of America – includes information about hospice care and programs including bereavement support for families using hospice.

Let’s Talk Death – are video/podcast recordings of conversations exploring topics that may feel relevant to our lives with various industry leaders, authors, and individuals who have a deep understanding of grief. The show informs and inspires and is about issues related to grief and loss. It’s time to take the taboo out of death, dying, and grief.

Miscarriage Matters – provides support to the survivors of miscarriage, stillbirth, and early infant loss, while increasing awareness around those devastating and heartbreaking issues.

National SIDS Resource Center – provides information services and technical assistance on sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) and related topics.

Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep Foundation – is a national network of photographers who donate time and materials to preserve precious memories through photographs taken at the hospital when a baby has died at birth.

Open to Hope – a non-profit foundation with the mission of helping people find hope after loss. We invite you to read, listen and share your stories of hope and compassion.

Parents Of Murdered Children – provides support and assistance to all survivors of homicide victims while working to create a world free of murder.

SHARE Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support – SHARE’s mission is to serve those who are touched by the tragic death of a baby through miscarriage, stillbirth, or newborn death.

Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is the agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services that leads public health efforts to advance the behavioral health of the nation. SAMHSA’s mission is to reduce the impact of substance abuse and mental illness on America’s communities.

Sudden Infant Death Syndrome Network – offers latest information, as well as support, for those who have been touched by the tragedy of SIDS/OID (other infant death).

Survivors of Suicide – helps those who have lost a loved one to suicide to resolve their grief and pain in their own personal way.

Sudden Unexplained Death In Childhood Program – offers support, information, advocacy, and research opportunities for those touched by the sudden and unexplained death of a child (over 12 months of age).

Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors – is made up of, and provides services to, all those who have lost a loved one while serving the country in the Armed Forces.

Theravive – is a network of licensed therapists and psychologists committed to helping people receive the best mental health care available. Through building bridges with others, they continually strive to lower mental health stigma.

Twinless Twins – serves in support of twins (and all multiple births) who suffer from the loss of companionship of their twin through death, estrangement, or in-utero loss.
